Designworx put the WOW into Kitchen Design

Putting the ‘WOW’ into Kitchen Design Set in Leafy Greenhithe, this large family manor called for a total refurbishment. The 2-storied brick exterior housed an open plan kitchen, dining and living area, 5 bedrooms, a media / library space, and a large pool room, giving scope to play on luxury and scale with unpretentious warmth. Resene, Tea, ½ Acropolis and Finn, used on some of the walls, was the starting point for the layering of the colour palette for the flooring, new kitchen, window treatments, furniture and décor, pulling the scheme together with an eclectic mix of texture and pattern. The key focal point of the kitchen was the natural stone waterfall with its large embedded river-stones. This granite waterfall at the dining end of the island creates the strong focal point in contrast to the neutral walls and cabinetry. At 120mm higher than the rest of the bench, it also helps to hide the kitchen mess from the dining table. The natural rounded corners on the large slab of granite give it an organic look in contrast to the clean lines of the rest of the kitchen. A contemporary version of a traditional pot rack hangs over the butler’s sink and the chandelier above the dining table, helps establish a subtle connection with the country manor style of the home. Peter Collis latest ceramic piece sits on the dining table. For Kitchen and Bathroom design that’s is out of the ordinary call Amanda 09 4451098
