The Studio of Tableware

Renowned for his unique talent in creating clean, simple, modern classics, the Jasper Conran at Wedgwood collection is no exception. It is the culinary equivalent of the little black dress or the simple white shirt - destined to become a household essential.

Jasper Conran's artistic vision is the same for his homeware as it is for all his design work - form and function come first, decoration later. This influence shines through in his contemporary collections for Wedgwood, which combines the finest materials with simplicity of shape.

Each pattern is stunning on its own or mixed and matched with other items in the Jasper Conran collection.

Debandada

Enhance your interior décor with this amazingly realistic 3D butterfly artwork
$149 each.

The optical illusion of depth makes this artwork look like a real butterfly framed in a heavy dark wood frame with gold detailing. Size is 28cm wide x 30cm tall x 2cm deep (11" x 11.8" x 0.7").
The reality is much more amazing. The image is actually completely flat including the frame, which is an image - but you have to get close enough to touch it to know for sure. Printed onto metallic photo paper the butterflies take on the amazing iridescence of real life. The photograph is then gloss laminated for protection and to make cleaning easier and mounted on 20mm Artmount with chocolate wood grain texture sides.
The artwork looks heavy but is surprisingly light. A simple hanging tab is attached to the back. Display individually or group in a set of three or four for maximum impact. A great gift idea.
These artworks are a great alternative to buying a real butterfly which of course means having a dead bug in your house. There are no issues of insect fragility, quarantine, fumigation or endangered species with a photographic artwork like this. What a bonus!

Vivace Textiles

New Dedar 2008 fabric collection 'Acanthus' is an empire style with a contemporary twist. A pure, lavish and symmetrical design: Napoleonic traits with a contemporary twist. This Damask is simple yet elegant, and features a large acanthus leaf pattern. The quality of the silk and cotton used is sober and up-to-date. The range subtly conjures up the colours of the period.

Nicola Cumming Kitchen Designer

Nicola Cumming has just arrived home from the NKBA Kitchen & Bathroom Conference in Chicago and Eurocucina Expo in Milan, both being the biggest that we know of in the world! In Chicago Nicola had the opportunity to do workshops and also hear some wonderful speakers that were very inspirational & insightful. Outdoor kitchens being the next area that is going to be big and of course being green & sustainable is what the world is talking about and how to put it into action in the industry.

In Milan, it was huger than huge!!! Nine acres of pavilions showing every aspect of what's new and exciting in kitchens, bathrooms, lighting, & furniture. 350,000 people go per day and 210,000 of those are overseas visitors. Nicola averaged 34km per day for 5 days and still did not get to see it all….very mind blowing. The expo is only on every 2 years. Now Nicola is back and looking forward to putting her passion back into her clients, creating their dreams of new Kitchen & Living spaces

Resene -Paint colour cues for 2009

Sink back into warm mid tones and cool ethereal hues for 2009 for a sense of well being, fresh and forward thinking. The Range 2009 draws on hues from the full spectrum complemented by a variety of whites and cool and warm greys. There is a definite warming trend as bronzed yellows, burnished oranges, earthy and tan browns, nature inspired greens, vivid reds and reddened purples meet slate blues and soft neutrals. Designs become more thoughtful and mature, less fussy, yet not minimalist and colour is used to provide a subtle highlight and to balance design features. Hues seem familiar and comfortable, with fewer daring bolds compared to earlier in the decade.

You'll find all this and more in the new The Range 2009
